Workout of the Week: Full Body Twister

180° twist jump squats? Russian twists?

No, those aren’t snowboarding tricks or ice skating aerials. They’re part of today’s workout!

Today’s session is going to twist you up! You’ll be getting in a full body workout that’s going to burn calories and get you in shape!

You’re going to be stretching and bending a lot during this one, so make sure you’re ready to get flexy with it! We know this is going to tone your whole body; I mean, you’ll be on your way to that Greek god body you’ve always wanted.

Ready to take on the “full body twister”? Here we go!

 

Warm Up

Glute Bridges

Superman

Jumping Jacks

Quick Feet

 

Time: 2:20

Repeat: 2x

Transition Time: 40 seconds

Time at End of Warm Up: 3:00

 

Station #1

Russian Twist – Lay down. Hold a dumbbell from both ends. Do hip-to-hip ab twists, moving the dumbbell with you as you twist.

 

Time: 2 minutes

Repeat: 4x

Transition Time: 30 seconds

Time at End of Station: 5:30

 

Station #2

Dumbbell Burpee High Pull – Bend down until dumbbells are on the floor and parallel to each other. Kick your legs out behind you to reach push up position. Do a push up as you continue to grip the dumbbells on the ground. Bring your legs back in, then spring up, driving each dumbbell to just below chin level. Make sure you kick your elbows out as you pull up each dumbbell. Also, make sure the dumbbells form a straight line when you pull them up.
